ACCENTURE RIVER CLEAN UP & WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2024

  • Rotary Club of Sandton 63 Bryanston Drive Sandton, GP, 2191 (map)

In celebration of World Environment Day, the Rotary Club of Sandton is excited to announce our upcoming river clean-up event at the Braamfontein Spruit river sponsored by Accenture South Africa!

We are also honoured to have representation from WaterCan and Dr. Ferrial Adam!

The Braamfontein Spruit river is a vital waterway in our community, providing essential ecological services and recreational opportunities. Unfortunately, it has suffered from pollution and neglect. Our quarterly clean-ups aim to restore the river's natural beauty and health, ensuring it remains a valuable resource for future generations.

These efforts are a testament to Rotary's commitment to environmental sustainability, one of Rotary International’s key areas of focus. By participating in these clean-ups, volunteers will not only contribute to the environmental well-being of our community but also join a global movement dedicated to protecting our planet.

This initiative is particularly significant as we celebrate World Environment Day, a global platform for raising awareness and encouraging action for the protection of our environment. It’s a reminder of our collective responsibility to preserve natural habitats and combat pollution. Our river clean-ups align perfectly with the spirit of World Environment Day, emphasizing the importance of community action in achieving sustainable development goals.

We invite all community members, local organizations, and environmental enthusiasts to join us in making a tangible difference. Together, we can create a cleaner, healthier environment for all.

For more information and to sign up as a volunteer, please visit our website or contact the Rotary Club of Sandton directly on info@sandtonrotary.org.

Let's come together to make a positive impact and uphold Rotary's dedication to environmental stewardship!
